INSTALL YOUR DIRECTV, DISH NETWORK, BELL EXPRESSVU, STAR CHOICE, OR OTHER SATELLITE TV DISH ANTENNA INSIDE YOUR HOUSE OR APARTMENT.

Materials cost: less than $30.00

YOU MUST HAVE A WINDOW THAT FACES THE SATELLITE,
AND HAS A CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT TO IT.

Welcome!

On this website we offer DIY plans to construct a low loss, low cost, satellite TV window pane. The plans are designed for any dish that operates in the 11 - 14 GHz frequency band.

Why?

Standard window materials and designs prevent DBS satellite TV reception (DirecTV, Dish, etc.), requiring you to mount the  dish antenna  outside. Some apartments and condos will not allow this, leaving people with no choice but to deal with the cable monopolies.  Constructing a window pane with these plans allows you to install the dish inside of your home. There are many advantages to this.  The dish is now out of the weather, and easy to adjust.  No professional installation is necessary.  Forget about climbing a ladder to clean ice and snow from the antenna, or to re-aim it after a wind storm.  Or maybe you just want to hide the dish.  Normal curtains without metallic threads do not attenuate the signal, and can be left closed for a total "Stealth" installation (See photos above).

How?

The plans describe how to construct a transparent window pane to replace the standard pane in your existing window.  Designed by a Microwave Engineer, they are based on proven “"A" Sandwich” technology used in military radomes, and are tuned to the 11 GHz - 14 GHz satellite frequency band, using proprietary software.  See graphs of the typical performance HERE.  Materials cost should be less than $30.00.

Dish elevation settings vary with latitude, and the window’s apparent thickness increases with elevation angle.  These plans will be specific to the elevation settings at your location.  The material, thicknesses and spacings will be computer-optimized for your latitude.  A window pane built to this design has  very low loss.  When the pane is in place,  the satellite receiver indicates the same  signal strength as an open window.

It is a three layer design and incorporates an air gap, which offers better electrical performance and thermal insulating properties than a single layer pane.

Graphs of the calculated performance for your latitude are included.
